Iran Actors’ Guild congratulates Behdad

Actors’ Guild of Iran congratulates Hamed Behdad for Shanghai award.

The Cinema Actors’ Guild of Iran congratulated Iranian actor Hamed Behdad for being awarded at the Shanghai International Film Festival.

In a statement, the central board of the Cinema Actors’ Guild of Iran congratulated Hamed Behdad on receiving the Best Actor award for his performance in Reza Mirkarimi’s ‘Qasr-e Shirin’ at the 22nd annual Shanghai International Film Festival.

In the letter, the actors’ guild congratulated Behdad on receiving the award for his “admirable” performance, wishing him great success in the future.

Behdad was not the only winner for ‘Qasr-e Shirin’ as director Reza Mirkarimi was the recipient of the festival’s Best Director and Golden Goblet awards.

The film narrates the story of Jalal Moradi, a father of two who kills a family in an accident, and although the murder is recognized as an accident without intent, he still has to serve a prison sentence.

After being released from prison, he moves to another city, leaving his family behind. Upon learning that his wife has become brain-dead, he decides to head back home after two years.

In addition to Hamed Behdad, star of ifilm’s ‘Free Fall’, Mohammad Asgari, Zhila Shahi, Akbar Ayin, Azadeh Nobahar, Mohammad Ashkanfar, Youna Tadayyon and Niyousha Alipour make up the remainder of the film’s cast.
